The frequency of galloping is very low, but the amplitude is very large, which can easily cause phase-to-phase flashover, resulting in serious accidents such as line tripping, power failure or burning of wires. A shock hammer is just a length of iron rod. Because it is hung at the suspension point of the line tower pole, it can absorb or weaken the vibration energy, change the swing frequency of the line, and prevent the line from vibrating or galloping. The hammer head is gray cast iron, painted, and the rest are hot-dip galvanized steel.
